Most people are not afraid of imperfection.
They are afraid that imperfection will reduce their worth.
So the moment they make a mistake, they unconsciously begin questioning themselves. “Maybe I’m not good enough.” “Maybe they won’t value me.” And this can become quite exhausting. Because life slowly turns into performance. A constant performance to appear composed, capable, emotionally controlled, and always certain. But emotional depth changes this completely. Emotional depth is the ability to show up imperfectly without attaching your self-worth to the moment. Being nervous and still showing up. Being misunderstood and not abandoning yourself. Making mistakes without collapsing into shame. Because your worth was never meant to depend on: always being right, always being composed, always performing as perfect or always being admired. You can be authentic, human, imperfect and still remain whole. - Nithya Rajkumar
